# Asset hunt 2026-09-29T00:10 UTC

## What changed

- Ripper narrowed to tree-root, single-tyne: best local are Collier & Miller, Griffith, 40km, and Grizzly, Swan Hill, 300km, both POA.
- Cheapest single tyne: MF heavy-duty 3PL ripper, $350, Crookwell, 390km; frame has some damage.
- Chinese 28-plate 3.0m offsets land around $7.5k-$10.5k new, against $20k+ for new local.
- Mac mini added: no plain-M5 model exists; cheapest to spec is M6 32GB/1TB at $2,799 from Apple.
- Dropped three multi-tyne tillage rippers that no longer fit the brief.

## Summary

Brief changes this run: the ripper hunt is now tree-root rippers only, ideally a single deep tyne, and rippers and offsets now include overseas makers that ship to Australia. Mac mini added. No other wants were re-checked.

## Notes

Owner changed the ripper want (tree roots only, single tyne preferred, overseas allowed), added overseas makers to offset discs, and added a Mac mini. USD/AUD 1.425 from open.er-api.com, 29 Sep 2026. Import landed-cost figures are estimates (sea freight, 0% duty under ChAFTA with certificate of origin or 5% without, 10% GST, broker and biosecurity, truck from Sydney). Left out: Hengshing, Letol and Zhongyang Chinese offsets (lighter, dearer or 2.5m), Barrett single tyne in WA (70hp), eBay UK Mac minis priced $600-$950 over Apple, FB Mac mini M4 Pro 48GB/1TB $3,200 (M4, misses the chip).
