## Market summary

US August PCE came in soft: core +0.2% m/m and 3.0% y/y (consensus 3.3%), headline +0.3% m/m and 3.4% y/y, while personal spending jumped 0.9% and Q2 GDP was revised up to 2.2% annualised from 1.5%, with data-centre structures among the upward revisions. October Fed hike odds dropped to about 36% (hold 64%) from 51% a day earlier and 71% a week ago, helped by NY Fed's Williams saying there is 'no need for urgency'; the fed funds target is 3.75-4.00%. The 10-year yield dipped to 5.24% on the print but was back at 5.28% by 10:37 ET (prior close 5.26%), ending a September in which it rose 47bp, the biggest monthly move in about two years; the dollar index eased 0.15% to 100.96 after a near 2% September gain. At 10:30 ET the S&P 500 was 7,706 (+0.45%), Nasdaq 27,070 (+1.0%), but SOX lagged at 12,559 (-0.55%) despite Nvidia +1.5% and Intel +2.6%; Alphabet +2.2%, Constellation Energy -5.7%; VIX 15.9. Asia Wednesday: ASX 200 8,789 (+0.9%), Nikkei 66,754 (+1.9%), Kospi 6,838 (-0.5%), Hang Seng 24,613 (+0.4%), Shanghai 3,842 (+0.3%) in its last session before the Oct 1-8 Golden Week break; Stoxx 600 636 (-0.3%) at midday, ASML flat at EUR 1,603. Brent rebounded 2.6% to about $98.7 (December contract; expiring November near $103) and WTI +2.1% to $91.3 after three vessels were hit by projectiles in Hormuz; Iran is reviewing a US counter-proposal to its seven-day plan with the gap now on sequencing, the DOE is releasing a final 40 mb SPR tranche (bids due Oct 6) and Trump is weighing a diesel export curb with US diesel at $6.53/gal. Next 48h (AEST): Micron FQ4 results after the US close, call Thu 06:30, consensus revenue $51.5b and EPS $31.83; BoJ Tankan Thu 09:50; RBA Financial Stability Review Thu 11:30; BYD September sales Thu; Trump's $54b Korea Alaska LNG announcement Thu 05:30; ISM manufacturing (prior 54.6) and Waller Fri 00:00, Jefferson Fri 03:30, Bowman Fri 05:00, Cook Fri 05:30; US September payrolls Fri 22:30 (prior +162k, unemployment 4.1%); Tesla Q3 deliveries Fri.

## Holdings

- AMZN: hold - Up 1.6% in the first hour Wednesday after Rosenblatt raised its target to $360 and Synopsys signed a multi-year IP deal covering Trainium, Graviton and Nitro. Both back the custom-silicon and ads-resilience thesis; nothing to change.
- AXOS: hold - Flat (+0.05%) early Wednesday with no company news since the Oct 29 results date. Cooler core PCE roughly halved October hike odds, which eases the funding-cost worry a touch; hold into the print.
- BABA: watch - Up 0.6% Wednesday morning and still down about 27% in 2026 after missing adjusted EPS in each of the last five reports. Nearing Beijing approval to buy Nvidia RTX PRO 5500 chips is a small plus, but the November 25 print needs to end the miss streak before this moves off watch.
- ENPH: watch - Up 5.5% in the first hour with no company news; reads as rate-relief buying after core PCE undershot. Citi trimmed its target to $37 on Tuesday and a StockStory screen flagged two years of falling unit volumes. A bounce, not a thesis change.
- FIGR: hold - Down 0.7% early Wednesday. Aletheia started coverage at Buy on Tuesday with a target of $49, calling the on-chain lending model highly profitable and unlevered. One more supportive voice; no change.
- GOOGL: add - Up 2.5% Wednesday morning, the strongest of the group, after Google started paying about 100 publishers for content that feeds AI Overviews, Gemini and AI Mode. That trims the publisher-litigation overhang around AI search; keep adding.
- LDI: trim - Up 1.0% intraday but the 30-year fixed sits at 7.58%, the highest since November 2023, and the cooler PCE print barely moved mortgage bonds (10-year 5.245%, flat). Origination volume stays pinned; keep trimming.
- META: hold - Down 1.7% Wednesday morning after the NYT reported Meta labels its AI data centers experimental to claim research tax credits while pitching them to investors as proven. Headline risk, not a thesis change; hold.
- MRVL: hold - Down 1.9% Wednesday morning with no company news, giving back part of Tuesday's gain ahead of the October 6 analyst day. Seaport started coverage at Buy with a target of $270, but the stock is up roughly 210% this year so we hold rather than add.
- MU: hold - Up 0.9% Wednesday morning into the fiscal Q4 print tonight; options price a 7.9% move either way against an 8.1% average over the last four reports. Consensus is about $51.5 billion revenue, and the Netlist ITC filing has drawn no Micron response yet; hold through the print.
- NFLX: hold - Down 0.4% early Wednesday, giving back a slice of Tuesday's upgrade bounce. No new company news; Q3 results are the next real test. Hold.
- NVDA: hold - Up 1.7% Wednesday morning on the soft PCE print and CoreWeave putting Vera Rubin NVL72 into production. DeepSeek and Huawei open-sourcing a CUDA alternative for Ascend is a long-run risk, but China is already near zero share for Nvidia, so nothing here changes the hold.
- OPENAI: hold - Regulatory heat rose overnight: an FTC probe into OpenAI and Anthropic safety practices, the LASST civil suit over the Hugging Face breach, and a NYT report that staff warnings were ignored. Altman says no IPO until safety claims hold; the reported $30B raise at $1.4T is still only in talks, so the mark stays at the last closed basis.
- RKT: watch - Down 0.8% early Wednesday. Adopting VantageScore 4.0 from Q4 widens the borrower pool at the margin, but with the 30-year at 7.58% volume is the problem, not scoring. Stay on watch.
- STRIPE: hold - Marked 10 years in Japan on Sep 30 with Managed Payments, five local QR wallets, Tap to Pay on Android and Capital (2027); 150,000 Japanese businesses on the platform. No new round or tender reported; mark unchanged.
- TSM: add - Up 0.3% Wednesday morning as Reuters sources say TSMC is evaluating a Texas site on top of the $265 billion Arizona plan with four or more further fabs. More US capacity commitments keep the customer pipeline locked in; stay on add.

- MELI:US MercadoLibre - accumulate (medium) - LatAm's leading e-commerce and fintech platform; Q2 revenue $10.17B (+50%), the 30th straight quarter above 30%. $1,711.25 at 10:30 ET Wednesday (-0.8%), down 2.4% since Sep 28 and 11% since Sep 14 on no company news; consensus target $2,272 (+33%).

Contracts are 730 GPU-hours, cash-settled on the Silicon Data index, monthly out to 36 months. Nov 9 is a decision deadline, not a listing date. ## Notes

## Macro backdrop

Rates are the constraint: the Fed is in a hiking cycle at 3.75-4.00% with the 10-year at 5.2-5.3% and September's 47bp jump the biggest in two years, so today's soft core PCE only lowers October hike odds to about a third, and payrolls on Friday decide whether that holds. AI capex keeps printing: Q2 GDP was revised up partly on data-centre structures, Synopsys signed a $1b-plus custom silicon IP deal with AWS, Nvidia signed the White House voluntary safety accord, and Micron tonight tests whether memory margins hold with 279% YTD already priced. In semis the risk is China policy, not demand: DeepSeek and Huawei released TileLang and Ascend libraries aimed at CUDA, and the US Court of International Trade heard the challenge to Trump's 10-12.5% forced-labour tariffs on 60 partners. Energy stays tight even as Gulf exports are back near pre-war levels: dated Brent near $120 on record-low stocks, SPR heading to its lowest since 1982, diesel at $6.53 and a possible export ban, while the Hormuz deal is stuck on sequencing and OPEC+ is expected to hold quotas Sunday. China heads into Golden Week with Shanghai flat and CSI 300 down 12.5% for the quarter.

## Holdings (AI)

Checked at ~10:30 ET Wed Sep 30 (00:30 AEST Thu). WebSearch budget was exhausted from the first call, so everything came via WebFetch: stockanalysis.com quote pages for all seven prices (intraday and Tuesday close), BEA release page and investing.com for PCE and Fed odds, Google News RSS for discovery, then direct TipRanks/Yahoo/investing.com articles for each item. Blocked: Reuters (fetch refused), CNBC live blog (403), Alizila (403), Netlist IR site (bad TLS cert), TipRanks options-volatility roundup did not list MU. Netlist follow-up: RSS showed only re-reports of Tuesday's complaint (Digitimes, TradingKey, MarketScreener) and no Micron statement; ad-hoc-news framed Wall Street as unfazed. Marvell: FXLeaders/Pluang RSS headlines claimed a Citi upgrade and an $18B FY2028 guidance raise, but neither Yahoo, MarketBeat nor stockanalysis news feeds corroborate them and Marvell's analyst day is Oct 6, so they were excluded; MRVL's 1.9% drop had no attributable news. Trump/Nvidia/Meta voluntary AI safety deal from Tuesday's lunch was already covered (CBS) and was skipped. All prices from stockanalysis.com quote pages, not from memory.

## Holdings (Internet/Energy)

WebSearch budget was exhausted before this run, so everything came via WebFetch. Prices: stockanalysis.com quotes at 10:11-10:30 ET Sep 30. Macro: BEA release, Yahoo Finance live blog (S&P +0.3%, Nasdaq +0.5%, Dow flat at the open; hike odds 35% from 70%; ADP +90k), Yahoo ^TNX (5.26 flat), Mortgage News Daily markets page (10y 5.245%, 30y 7.58%). Blocked: CNBC (403), Reuters, NY Post, The Verge, NYT, Guardian, nine.com.au, Firstpost, Fast Company, SecurityWeek, channelnewsasia; Google News RSS redirect links do not resolve, Bing News RSS used to get direct URLs. Substitutes used: cryptobriefing for the FTC probe and the NYT report, Gizmodo for Altman's IPO remark, ABC for the Australia inquiry. Not included as items: Stripe's 10-years-in-Japan release (https://stripe.com/au/newsroom/news/stripe-marks-10-years-in-japan-with-new-products-to-accelerate-the-growth-of-digital-businesses, folded into the take), Bloomberg's $30B-at-$1.4T report (already covered via TechCrunch, no closed round), Barron's/MarketWatch Amazon 46%-upside pieces (same Rosenblatt call), StockStory ENPH screen (https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/1-cash-heavy-stock-worth-125313989.html, folded into the take). No new news for AXOS or NFLX since the last run. No closed round or tender for Stripe or OpenAI, so mark multiples unchanged.

## Loves

WebSearch budget was exhausted (200/200) at the start, so everything came via WebFetch of stockanalysis.com, Google News RSS, Bing News RSS, Yahoo Finance, blog.cloudflare.com, anthropic.com/news, cursor.com/changelog and newsroom.spotify.com. Blocked domains: reuters.com, nypost.com, cnbc.com, theguardian.com, theaustralian.com.au, investopedia.com, msn.com (empty). Google RSS redirect links return no content, so items only visible there could not be cited. Prices: NET/HOOD/AAPL/SPOT from stockanalysis at 10:28-10:30 ET (Yahoo showed HOOD $113.85, -2.04% at 10:33). 1211.HK Wed close HK$75.60 -0.20%. Checked and found nothing new: CURSOR (no changelog since Sep 23; Michael Truell named to TIME100 Next on Sep 30 per PR Newswire, not material); SPOT (only the Sep 29 outage, already covered; Mashable 'Jam' and 'Heardle' pieces are evergreen); Anthropic newsroom (latest post still Sep 23 enzyme discovery). Australian Senate inquiry (hearing Oct 1 AEST): no fetchable Sep 30 article; Google RSS showed The Australian 'Anthropic acting in deeply cynical fashion ahead of potential IPO' (08:53 UTC) and businessinsurance.com 'AI chiefs called to Australian Senate inquiry' (14:19 UTC) but both were unreachable, and all reachable sources are Sep 27-28 (both CEOs declining to attend). Safety accord: Yahoo 'executives sign White House accord' Sep 30 is the same event as the covered CBS piece. Stale items surfaced by Google with Sep 30 timestamps and dropped: Anthropic bioweapon block (Sep 10), Hegseth supply-chain ruling (Sep 25), Akamai $11.6bn deal (Sep 24), SpaceX $84.5bn compute (Sep 29 prospectus coverage). Also noted but not itemised: Bloomberg (via Yahoo) says Ternus is planning small-scale layoffs within large teams and cancelling projects as memory costs bite (extends the already-covered 9to5mac 'leaner' story); BYD Sealion 5 got a 3-star ANCAP, its first sub-5-star result in Australia (Sep 28-29 coverage); 24/7 Wall St notes NET up ~80% YTD with little room for an earnings miss.

## Watchlist

Prices: US names intraday 10:30 ET (stockanalysis), BYD and Keyence Wednesday closes converted at USD/HKD 7.8457 and USD/JPY 156.947 (Yahoo, 30 Sep). All 15 kept; no status or conviction changes. Broad drift lower on the list (13 of 13 US names down 0.2-2.0% at 10:30 ET) despite an index bounce on cool PCE; Micron after the bell (Thu 06:30 AEST) is the swing event for SKHY, TER, ASML and the AI complex, and BYD September sales land Oct 1. Search budget was exhausted this run, so news came via Google News RSS, Yahoo quote news pages, Electrek and MarketBeat forecast pages. Candidate hunt, both screened and both pass the growth-plus-moat bar but the list is at the 15 cap and no thesis broke, so neither is added: (1) Celestica (CLS, AI, $358.53, -2.2%): Q2 revenue $4.70B +62% YoY (accelerating from +28%, +44%, +53%), operating margin 9.8%, EPS $3.17, 37x earnings, Bernstein initiated Outperform at $520 Wednesday, consensus $450 (+26%); moat is design-win entrenchment in hyperscaler 800G/1.6T switching and rack integration, thinner than a chip designer's. (2) Reddit (RDDT, Internet, $148.81): Q2 revenue $805M +61% with 130.3M DAU (+18%) and a 29% operating margin, 35x earnings after the multiple compressed ~38% in a year (stock down from $207 in July), consensus $214 (+44%); moat is the unique community corpus that AI labs and Google pay to license, risk is Google-search dependence and beta near 2. Reddit is the stronger add on valuation if a slot opens (TSLA is the weakest fit for a 30%+ growth list, but its watch thesis has not broken). Nebius (NBIS) looked at and passed: +507% TTM growth but 48x sales, debt- and prepayment-funded capacity, no moat beyond GPUs on order. Priced Nebius and Reddit via stockanalysis; Bernstein/CLS via MarketBeat.

## Macro

WebSearch budget was exhausted (200/200); everything came via WebFetch. Google News RSS gave headlines but its redirect links cannot be followed, so the Nvidia/AMD request to the White House on NDAA China chip curbs (finance.biggo.com, Sep 29) and the AP Asia wrap could not be opened and are excluded from news items. No Qatar LNG development found on investing.com, oilprice.com or Al Jazeera today. CME FedWatch timed out; Fed pricing is from investing.com's Fed Rate Monitor (10:15 ET) and the investing.com article. Headline PCE consensus is inconsistent across sources (Yahoo says 3.7%, others just 'below forecast'), so only the core consensus of 3.3% is stated. Brent quotes differ by contract: investing.com front month $98.69 (Dec) vs Yahoo/Reuters November near $103. Tradingeconomics' calendar page returned 'actual' values for Oct 1-2 events that have not happened, so it was not used; ISM, payrolls and unemployment priors come from investing.com indicator pages, Tankan page returned HTTP 500. Fed speaker times are from the Fed's October 2026 calendar. Tesla Q3 deliveries and BYD September sales dates are from the task brief, not re-verified. No Europe Wednesday wrap article could be opened; Stoxx 600 and ASML are live quotes only.

Biggest change: the CME/Silicon Data GPU futures will NOT launch Oct 5 - CFTC extended review 45 days to Nov 9 (FinanceFeeds Sep 29). The explainer still says 'from October 5, 2026 it becomes a CME futures contract'; I did not edit it as instructed, but that sentence is now stale and the owner should update it. Added datapoints: Anthropic $518B compute commitments (capex_vs_backlog), CDC A$15B Gregadoo campus (dc_cost_per_gw), CoreWeave Vera Rubin NVL72 in production (b200/neocloud/nvidia). power_bottleneck resent unchanged (no new queue/turbine data). VERIFIED UNCHANGED (Oct 1-2): Fed speakers Oct 1 (Waller 10:00, Jefferson 13:30, Bowman 15:00, Cook 15:30 ET) on the Board calendar; RBA FSR Oct 1 11:30 AEST and RBA minutes Oct 13 11:30 AEDT on the RBA calendar; jobs report Oct 2 and CPI Oct 14 on the BLS schedule; TSMC Sep revenue Oct 8 13:30 Taipei and Q3 results Oct 15 14:00 Taipei on TSMC's calendar; JPM Oct 13 07:00 ET on JPM's page; ISM manufacturing Oct 1 10:00 ET (financecalendar; ismworld is login-gated); FOMC minutes Oct 7 and Beige Book Oct 14 on the Fed calendar; BYD September sales not yet published (cnevpost table ends at August). COULD NOT VERIFY: BoJ Tankan page shows no schedule (a Sep 28 preview puts large-manufacturer DI consensus at +25; event left unchanged); Tesla IR site returned 403 (used TeslaNorth's report of Tesla's own consensus); Samsung Q3 prelim date (Korean and English feeds only say 'after Chuseok'; event left as Oct 7-8 TBC); ASML investor page timed out twice (event left as TBC); Netflix Q3 appears to be Oct 20 (Fool headline), outside the window and not confirmed on Netflix IR; DCD and CoreWeave newsroom pages returned 403/no dates, so the Rubin NVL72 claim rests on the Google News feed headlines (DCD, CoreWeave, Morningstar, Sep 30) and the Sep 16 CoreWeave bring-up blog; no Oct 1-15 earnings or investor days found for AMZN AXOS BABA ENPH FIGR GOOGL LDI META MRVL(Oct 6 already listed) MU NFLX NVDA RKT ALAB AVGO SKHY BE GEV VRT HOOD MELI NET SE Keyence TER TSLA Anthropic Stripe Cloudflare Cursor Spotify - these look like late-October/November and were not chased further; Anthropic IPO marketing 'mid-October' has no fixed date so was not added. Nvidia GTC Berlin is Oct 20-22 and GTC DC Nov 30-Dec 3, both outside the window. WebSearch budget was exhausted at the start; everything came via WebFetch.
